Arbitrum Activates ArbOS 61 Elara Upgrade with Optional Compliance Filters
Arbitrum has activated the ArbOS 61 Elara upgrade, adding optional protocol-level compliance filters for Orbit chains. The upgrade, effective August 20, requires node operators to update to Nitro v3.11.3. Stylus contract size limits expand from 24 KB to 96 KB, offering developers more room for complex smart contracts.
The compliance feature is designed exclusively for private or enterprise Orbit chain operators. It remains optional and does not apply to public Arbitrum One or Nova networks. Elara reinforces Arbitrum's shift from a single L2 to a multi-chain ecosystem, where customization and enterprise-grade tooling drive growth.
